Krk and beyond
8th July - our 12th wedding anniversary 😍
Once we had collected our extension lead from Savudrija, we headed towards Rijeka so we could explore that coast line.
We scoured the Internet on route, to see if we could find a campsite around that area. A lot of campsites are full up as it is now peak season! And those that are not full up are really expensive, around 60/70 Euros a night! Ouch!
We drove across a road bridge onto the island of Krk but couldn't find anywhere to stay. So we returned to the mainland.... Time was getting on and we had been on the road all day.
Eventually we found a small campsite called Autokamp Punta Povile, just by chance.
It is right next to a lovely beach - the best we have seen so far, and has gorgeous views. There is a tiny 16th century Chapel in the middle of the campsite!
We quickly set up camp, showered and went out to celebrate our anniversary. We had a meal in a nearby restaurant and then went to a music festival in the harbour!
Croatia continues to be amazingly dog friendly and Trevor has been welcomed in every place we have been. At this particular campsite dogs are allowed on all the beaches.
We have booked three nights here but it is so lovely we may well extend that.
